Research and development

Practical questions.
Inspectable methods.

Research starts where a real task meets an unanswered question. These notes explain the mechanisms being developed, the observations available and the next test.

5 research themes

01

Operational AI research

Context and handoffs

Useful AI work depends on what the next person or digital worker receives. This research examines source versions, specialist responsibilities and the uncertainty that can disappear when work moves between roles.

Implemented workflows and recorded experiments

02

Evidence-governed workflows

Evidence and decision rights

Preparing work, approving it, attempting an action and confirming its completion are different events. This research asks how software can preserve those distinctions and keep human responsibility visible.

Implemented control patterns

03

Practical systems research

Operational systems and data integrity

Operational errors often begin with ordinary details: an ambiguous unit, a duplicated document, an overlapping reporting period or a stock figure without a physical count. Reliable systems need to preserve those meanings, not merely display convincing totals.

Implemented transactional mechanisms

04

Applied model research

Model evaluation and bounded use

A model earns a place in a workflow through the task it can perform and the conditions under which it fails. This research connects model interfaces, context limits, local adaptation and computational experiments to practical decisions.

05

Practical AI enablement

People and working methods

Developing an AI workflow also means developing the person responsible for it. The working method should help someone brief the assistant, choose appropriate evidence, challenge an answer and decide what happens next.

and the method between.

The wider research interest comes from how institutions and people work with information, and how assumptions affect simulated behaviour.

Numerical model exploration and AI-worker handoff tests are separate research tracks. Repeatable computation helps inspect a model. It does not by itself establish that the model predicts the world.
